Mission, Vision, Values

Our Mission:

“To promote spiritual growth and to provide multi-generational ministries in Christ’s name”

Our Vision Statement:

“Foothills is a community committed to worshiping God and sharing his love.”

Our Values

We believe that …

Our Church is the people of God, the visible presence of Jesus Christ in the world;

Where God’s Word, the Bible, as the inspired word of God, is preached, studied and applied to our daily lives. We believe in using a variety of translations which give us numerous insights into the biblical writings of the Old and New Testaments and the life of Jesus Christ.

Where the sacraments of Holy Communion and Holy Baptism, each coming out of the life of Christ, are administered and experienced as visible signs of God’s invisible grace.

Where lives are transformed daily by the love and grace of God in Jesus Christ through the indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit. As people believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord they become mature disciples who learn to love others as God loves us and who make disciples who do the same.

Where spiritual gifts are affirmed and utilized to build up the body of Christ, the church, so that we may reach out and witness to the world.

Where worship glorifies God Our Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, edifies and inspires those who participate, and draws all who are faithfully seeking a closer relationship with the Living God.

Where we enjoy food and conversation around a table, helping someone who is in need, and joining with others in serving God in our community and around the world.

Our Wesleyan Heritage is the foundation on which our life together is structured;

Its theology of grace and its spirituality of the heart help us define, understand and experience God’s love and grace for us individually and collectively as a community of Jesus’ disciples.

Its small group and one on one discipleship emphasis provide us with the means for spiritual growth through mutual sharing, support, and accountability.

We pray, study the Bible, serve and affirm one another, and reach out together to those who are in need of help with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Multigenerational Focus is drawn from the teachings of Jesus, the Apostles, and the Apostle Paul regarding Christ’s Body—the church;

As God’s family, we celebrate and honor God with our uniqueness, being children, youth, adults, and older adults, all possessing different gifts and talents, and all being called by God to serve one another.

As God’s family, we contribute to the nurturing, care, training and deployment of all in ministry so that the body of Christ—the church – is well equipped to reach out in love in order to transform our world into God’s Kingdom.

As God’s family, we are called to faithfully share our gifts, talents and time in all of life, to fulfill the mission of the church and responsibly use and care for all of God’s creation.

As God’s family, we commit ourselves to seek God’s best for each other, for those with whom we are called to serve, and in all that we do so that we may glorify God.
