Foothills United Methodist Church Building Fund Campaign is in full swing. The link to our Go Fund Me Page is provided here Please click here to visit our Go Fund Me Page and read about all the obstacles we have encountered during the past decade. For more information on the history of Foothills United Methodist Church please click here. All donations help us continue our mission/community work in the Gloversville/Johnstown NY area. The building we are currently in is old and antiquated. Foothills helps those in need - last year alone, our Food Pantry served over 2,000 people providing nutritious foods, along with hats, gloves, mittens during the winter months, referrals to various community service agencies; our Knitting Group also provides hand knitted hats, gloves and scarfs, prayer shawls which are delivered to our local oncology/hematology offices, baby hats and blankets which are delivered to our local maternity wards, our United Methodist Women provided Christmas boxes those who in the community needing help, the boxes included food, hats, mittens, gloves, scarfs and toys. Our Sunday School program serves preschoolers through high school. We also offer a program for mothers of preschoolers called MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month starting at 9:30 a.m. We also do a 1 minute Faith Break Meditation on our local radio station WENT (AM 1340). These are just a few of the wonderful community programs that Foothills United Methodist Church has to offer. For more information on our building fund campaign or any of our community outreach programs, please call the church office at 518-725-9611. We also invite you to attend either our 9:00 a.m. Praise Worship Service or our 10:30 a.m. Traditional Worship Service which includes Children's Time; Sunday School starts at approximately 10:45 a.m. Come and hear Pastor Kim deliver his message (you won't be disappointed) and then stay for coffee fellowship following the 10:30 a.m. service in Fellowship Hall and meet Pastor Kim and his wife, Insouk.

Do you know a child between the ages of 10 and high school graduation who would enjoy joining the Foothills United Methodist Church Youth Group (fun, fellowship and serving God)?
Foothills United Methodist Church has a very active, mission-driven youth group. The group is a blend of churched and un-churched youth, ages 10 – high school graduation. We are committed to being God’s hands and feet in the community and the world. We strive to provide an environment that is open and caring, where youth can feel God’s love and acceptance no matter what their circumstances are!
We meet twice each month from September to June as well as once in the summer for a picnic.
Our missions have included (but are certainly not limited to) the following:
1. Hosted many Halloween parties for the Sunday School
2. Filled Shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse’s “Operation Christmas Child”
3. Provided Christmas gifts for needy families
4. Sponsored Easter egg hunts for Sunday School children as well as sponsoring an Easter breakfast buffet between Easter Sunday Services.
5. Created care kits for the Domestic Violence Shelter.
6. Created a “coat project” in which the youth collected coats and left them in parks in Gloversville for needy people to take.
7. Participate yearly in World Vision’s 30- hour famine – The youth fast together to raise awareness of and money for the hungry in the world. In 2005, when we did our first famine, 29,000 people were dying each day from hunger related illnesses. Today, that number has been reduced to 8000! 21,000 people are living each day due to the efforts of youth groups across the country! Ours included!
8. Participated in many Crop Walks for hunger
9. Participated in clean up efforts after the floods in Montgomery County.
10. Provided “goody bags” to homeless teens in our community through Captain’s Table of Clifton Park, NY.
Our group would love to see new faces! Please contact the church office at 518-725-9611 for more information! We look forward to seeing you!
